Genève vs. Lugano 0-2
21.11.2025 Swiss Alpen League
Lugano eSports didn’t just win 2–0 against Genève eSports – they finally celebrated their first league victory after six tough matches. From the first whistle, you could feel it: the Ticinesi were determined to break the curse today.
Genève defended tightly for a long time, almost as if they had hung a “Do not enter” sign in front of their goal. But without their missing key player, their attacks looked improvised and rarely threatening. Lugano, on the other hand, played calmly, controlled, and with far more attacking intent.
The breakthrough came in the 75th minute: Pavlos Roumpos punished a Genève mistake and scored the opening goal. When Genève pushed forward desperately in the final minutes, the spaces opened — and Lugano didn't hesitate. Manousaridis delivered a perfect cross in the 85th minute, finished confidently for the 2–0.
After six matches without a win, this victory felt like pure relief for Lugano. Finally rewarded, finally the first three points — and a performance showing that this team has far more to offer than the standings have suggested so far.
